2019 CHURCH PROGRAM ITEMS OF HIGH IMPORTANCE (NEW):
1. All team coaches/managers must email a team roster by at least two weeks prior to first tournament play to Paul Schukar at [email protected] with the players’ names, team name and class of the team played for in 2018 & 2019 in the men’s and Church program. Remember that teams get reclassified over the off season. So the class of the player is what he was reclassified to for 2019. It is each coach’s responsibility to know this. No team will be allowed to play a Church or Men’s tournament without first turning in an online team roster on the national website. There will be a post on the message board under the Church program where the coach/manager will be able to fill out a team roster and email it to Paul Schukar.
2. All Church rosters must be online before the team plays its first Church tournament. The team coach/manager must then register the team with USSSA to play in the tournament and then put the team’s roster online before the tournament starts.
3. Under the age of 18 players: A player must be 18 years of age to be able to play in a Washington USSSA tournament.
4. To register as a Church team the registration fee is $25. If a Church team plays in a Men’s tournament, then there is another $55 Dual USSSA/GSL Registration fee. All team registrations must be done on the National Website, www.usssa.com. Church teams must meet Men’s classification requirements for the level they want to participate in the Men’s Program.
5. A 3GG DBL elimination Bracket will be used for the Church State Championships.
6. Tournament directors will supply one new ball and one back up ball. The next back up ball will be supplied by the team that loses the game ball for any reason. The ball supplied by the team must be acceptable by the umpire and have the Washington State logo stamped on the ball.
7. Courtesy Runner Rule - Only one courtesy Runner per inning (one time) may be used. The courtesy runner can be any player in the lineup. If the courtesy runner is still on base at the time his/her turn to bat comes up, that spot in the batting order will be an out.
8. Equalizer rules. (See below)
TOURNAMENT ENTRY FEE:
A team’s spot in the tournament is guaranteed when the Tournament Director has the team’s money in hand. An unpaid team should be listed on the USSSA Washington website as “an interested team”, and entered into the actual tournament only when the Tournament Director has the entry fee.
EQUALIZER RULES FOR THE CHURCH PROGRAM:
The team being spotted runs may choose to be the home team by giving back three (3) runs to the team spotting the runs. Run spots may be adjusted as the season goes on.
Comp plays Comp: No spot - 2 HR - 20/3, 15/4, 10/5 Run Rule
